A rectangular ocean (10000 km~2000 km) with a simplified bottom topography
is adopted in this model. As shown in Fig.3,
the model ocean is flat except a meridional
ridge in the western part (1440 km < x < 1940 km). The model is driven only
by the zonal wind stress varying annually.
