Figure 4 shows annually averaged distributions
of the streamfunction and upper-layer thickness.
In general, distribution patterns of the
streamfunction and upper-layer thickness
are identical to those of the steady-state wind-driven ocean
circulation in a flat ocean. It is interpreted
that the steady-state solution accomplishing
the eisostasyf is superimposed on the time-dependent
part of the solution. Thus, the ridge hardly
affects the annually averaged circulation.
