Careers
in Physical Oceanography
About 95% of the Physical
Oceanography
students who have graduated from URI with M.S. and Ph.D. degrees
are
following careers in oceanography. They have found positions in
academic
institutions, federal and state laboratories and agencies, as well as
private
industry. Some of these places are tabulated below. Many of
our graduates are national leaders in oceanography and work in a
variety
of research, educational, policy and management positions. The
university
settings include oceanographic educational programs at the graduate and
