Kuroshio Extension Observatory (KEO) is a surface buoy that was deployed in the Kuroshio Extension recirculation gyre during June 2004. Dr. Meghan Cronin at PMEL/NOAA is the lead investigator. The buoy is equipped to monitor heat, moisture and momentum fluxes, and upper ocean temperature and salinity.
