I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Rhode Island, Graduate School of Oceanography. I have broad research interests in ocean color remote sensing, bio-optics, phytoplankton ecology and physiology, and carbon cycling. I am particularly interested the ecological and physiological response of phytoplankton to environmental change and the role that their community structure plays in carbon cycling and ecosystem functioning. I investigate these interests through the combination of remotely sensed imagery and in situ data sets.
