
Computer models of ocean circulation, ocean-atmosphere interaction and coupled biogeochemical-ecosystem-circulation systems are important tools for advancing our understanding of the world ocean and climate change. These become even more powerful when properly and formally combined with the large observed database that the ocean and climate communities continue to actively collect. We have expertise with several of the well established models commonly used in the oceanographic community, as well as with models we have developed ourselves. Current numerical modeling investigations in Physical Oceanography at the URI Graduate School of Oceanography cover a wide range of multi-disciplinary topics, geography, and space and time scales.
